Volunteer & Membership Coordinator
Part-time, 20 hours a week, $23/hour. Remote, with in-person events and programs in Palm Beach County.
You'll be the friendly face behind our members and volunteers. You'll keep our community growing, organized, and feeling appreciated.
- Manage memberships, renewals, and member communications
- Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers across our programs
- Organize events, including our monthly member meeting
- Support fundraising and outreach efforts
- Contribute content to our newsletter
Program Coordinator
Part-time, 20 hours a week, $23/hour. Remote, with in-person field trips and programs in Palm Beach County.
The Program Coordinator coordinates and supports our field trips and public programs and serves as Audubon Everglades' on-site representative at many trips and events. You'll handle field trip logistics, scheduling, registration, and guide coordination, help run the Christmas Bird Count and other citizen science activities, bring young birders into our programs, and mentor interns. Field trip coordination
- Plan and coordinate field trip logistics, scheduling, and guide communications
- Manage field trip communications and sign-ups
- Assist and lead field trips and serve as the on-site Audubon Everglades representative at many of them, greeting participants and serving as the point of contact
- Assist with organizing the annual Christmas Bird Count and other citizen science field trips and programs
Youth engagement
- Recruit and engage young birders and youth participants in field trips
- Mentor interns supporting programming
Program support and scheduling
- Maintain the master calendar of field trips and programs
- Work with the Director of Outreach and Education on programming
Communications support
- Create social media content related to field trips and programs, coordinating with our social media freelancer for posting
Event support
- Assist with member and volunteer event logistics as needed
- Coordinate with the Volunteer & Membership Coordinator on shared events and program scheduling
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with the public
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, trips, and timelines
- Comfortable leading or supporting outdoor group activities in varied weather and terrain
- Experience or interest in youth engagement or education a plus
- Reliable personal vehicle required
- Wildlife and birding knowledge preferred; willingness to build this knowledge alongside our field trip guides is welcome
- Comfortable with everyday technology (email, scheduling tools, databases, video calls); familiarity with EveryAction, Eventbrite, Canva, eBird, and iNaturalist a plus
- Comfortable hosting virtual programs and using video conferencing platforms
- Able to take photos and short videos at field trips and programs for social media, including appearing on camera to explain wildlife, birding, and trip activities
- Interest in birding, wildlife, or conservation strongly preferred
- Available for early mornings plus regular evenings and weekends for field trips and programs
- Occasional overnight travel required for multi-day field trips
- Successful background check required, as this role may involve working with youth
Compensation and schedule
$23.00/hour, 20 hours/week. Remote position based in Palm Beach County, with in-person attendance required for field trips and programs. The schedule includes early mornings plus regular evening and weekend hours in addition to remote work time, with occasional overnight travel for multi-day field trips.

Social Media Freelancer
Freelance, 8 to 10 hours a week, $1,000/month. Remote.
The Social Media Freelancer runs Audubon Everglades' social media across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, turning our field trips, programs, and conservation work into content that grows our community. You'll work with our staff and Program Coordinator, who share photos, videos, and stories from the field.

Content and posting
- Plan and maintain a monthly social media content calendar
- Post consistently across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
- Edit photos and short videos from staff, volunteers, and field trips into polished posts, reels, and stories
- Write clear, engaging captions that reflect our voice and mission
- Promote field trips, programs, events, membership, and fundraising campaigns
Community engagement
- Respond to comments and messages, and pass questions along to the right staff member
- Grow our audience and engagement across platforms
Reporting and coordination
- Share a short monthly report on reach, engagement, and follower growth
- Meet with staff regularly to plan upcoming content
Qualifications
- Experience managing social media for an organization, nonprofit, or business
- Strong writing skills and a good eye for photos and video
- Comfortable with Canva, short-form video editing, and social media scheduling tools
- Up to date on platform trends, especially short-form video
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Interest in birds, wildlife, or conservation a plus
Compensation and schedule
$1,000/month for 8 to 10 hours a week. Fully remote, with flexible hours. This is a freelance position.

Our Conservation Pathways Program is built for students and early-career people who want real experience, not busywork. Interns take ownership of actual projects, work alongside staff and board members, and build skills in field research, education, outreach, and nonprofit leadership. For some, it becomes a path into long-term leadership with Audubon Everglades.
