Education & Outreach

Birds are for everyone, and so are we.

At Audubon Everglades, we believe conservation starts with curiosity. Whether you're spotting your very first cardinal, chasing a life bird, or just looking for a fun excuse to get outside, our Education & Outreach programs make it easy to connect with birds, nature, and your community.

Bird Nerding 101

Everyone starts somewhere!

Our wildly popular Bird Nerding 101 is the perfect introduction to ethical birding, conservation, and basic biology. Learn how to use binoculars, identify common birds, understand bird behavior, and discover the best apps and tips for getting started.

No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity. We promise there are no silly questions, only more birds to discover.

Bird Brain Trivia & Wingo

Birds and beer? Yes, please!

Join us each month at both Civil Society Brewing Co. locations for Bird Brain Trivia and Wingo, where bird facts, conservation, and plenty of laughter come together. Whether you're a seasoned birder or simply enjoy a good challenge, these evenings are a fun way to connect with fellow nature lovers.

Birding for Every Body

Birding doesn't require expensive gear or years of experience. It just takes opening up to what's already there!

We offer many free bird walks, field trips, and educational adventures for birders of all ages, abilities, identities, and experience levels. Our beginner bird walks, bilingual family birding programs, and accessible outings create welcoming spaces where everyone can enjoy the incredible diversity of birds found throughout Palm Beach County.

We'll Come to You, or Take You Outside

Our educators and guides travel throughout Palm Beach County and beyond, bringing birds and conservation directly to schools, libraries, community organizations, businesses, festivals, parks, and neighborhood events.

Prefer to learn outdoors? We'll guide your group on the trail, helping you experience birds where they live and showing you that every walk has the potential for discovery.

Hands-On Conservation

The best way to care about nature is to experience it.

Our programs include hands-on activities that help people make a real difference, from creating bird-friendly landscapes through our Plants for Birds program to supporting Purple Martin conservation and exploring the fascinating lives of the birds that call South Florida home.

Come Join the Flock!

Most of our programs are free because we believe everyone deserves the chance to experience the joy of birds and the wonder of the natural world.

So grab your binoculars, or borrow ours. Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors, or just yourself. Whether you're ready to become a full-fledged bird nerd or simply curious about what's singing in your backyard, Audubon Everglades has a place for you.

The birds are waiting.
