Along with Jason’s other extensive work\, he joined Audubon at the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in 2001 and served as Sanctuary Director from 2012 until 2018. \nDiscover the significance of the 18-million-acre network that safeguards biodiversity and ensures a sustainable future for wild Florida. Learn about the scientific foundations and the creation of the Florida Ecological Greenways Network (FEGN) model\, which identifies key ecological hubs and connectors across the state. For more information\, visit http://floridawildlifecorridor.org/ . \n \nAbout the Presenter \nJason Lauritsen; Chief Conservation Officer – Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation \nJason Lauritsen implements the vision and mission of the Corridor Foundation to connect\, protect and restore essential conservation habitat statewide. Jason’s expertise includes environmental conservation and restoration\, land management science\, wetland protection\, stewardship\, and community relationships. He advocates the pursuit of a deep science-based understanding of our complex and often fragile ecosystem that undergirds the quality of life for both people and wildlife. \nJason sits on the Office of Greenways and Trails Council\, the Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) Environmental Partners Working Group\, the 2055 Florida Transportation Plan Steering Committee and is a part of the Statewide Bear Technical Assistance Group. Prior to joining the Corridor Foundation\, he was the Director of Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
