DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\n\nJoin field guide Bruce Pickholtz in this restricted access STA. Audubon Everglades in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD)\, is pleased to offer this special access to this STA . Communication is via two-way radios.  \n\n\n\nThe purpose of this trip is to document the elusive Black Rail. Additional target birds are the Sedge Wren\, Grasshopper Sparrow and Virginia Rail.  \n\n\n\nThere is one spot where we use the cars as blinds and stay in the cars. We are less likely to get the Black Rail to vocalize and zero chance of actually seeing one if people are walking around. \n\n\n\nDifferent parts of the STA we will get out and explore on foot. \n\n\n\n*********All participants************  \n\n\n\n1) Participants need to print and sign the South Florida Water Management Liability Release (including address) available on the Audubon Everglades Home page->Programs & Events-> Field Trips-> Liability Release Form. Please bring this with you to the event\, the field guide will collect this.  \n\n\n\n2)The Audubon Everglades Liability Release at the time of the event.  \n\n\n\nThere are no restrooms here. There is a WAWA for gas & restrooms. Located at 7705 FL-7\, Parkland\, FL 33073 Corner of Fl 7 & Loxahatchee Road which you turn onto. \n\n\n\nPlease RSVP your vehicle full of attendees as one 1 ticket. No need to print.  \n\n\n\nIf you need to cancel after registration\, please contact Paula 561-248-9089. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirections to Fran Reich Preserve from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) \n\n\n\nGet on I-95 S in West Palm Beach Follow I-95 S to SW 10th St in Deerfield Beach. Take exit 41 from I-95 S23 min (26.5 mi) Merge onto I-95 S26.1 mi Take exit 41 for SW 10th St/FL-869 toward Sawgrass Expy0.4 mi Turn right onto SW 10th St5 min (2.6 mi)Continue on FL-869 S to Parkland. Take exit 15 from FL-869 S5 min (5.6 mi) Continue on N University Dr. Drive to State Hwy 827 in Palm Beach County7 min (3.9 mi) Fran Reich Preserve Coral Springs\, FL 33076 \n\n\n\nPer google maps from PBI to Fran Reich Preserve it is 41.8 miles / 45 min drive time  \n\n\n\nMy GPS coordinates to here are as follows:  \n\n\n\nN 26 .21.04.29 \n\n\n\nW 080.16.59.74 \n\n\n\nAfter you turn onto Loxahatchee Road travel approx. 5.3 miles\, the entrance is on the right. If you travel to the end of the road\, Aurthur Marshall Loxahatchee entrance you have missed it.
