The United Nations has designated June 8, 2009 as the first World Oceans Day. While it would be nice to have found a theme that’s a little lighter on the guilt/burden (seriously–Our Oceans, Our Responsibility?), the day is designed to celebrate the incredible relationship our planet has with the ocean.
