JCI Miami is collaborating with the City of Miami Gardens to establish a bird and butterfly garden at Parkview Elementary. We will be holding a volunteer day on February 28th to plant native bird and butterfly attracting plants in and around a remnant patch of oak hammock located on the school grounds. This area will be used by students who will use this garden to learn about birds, migration, butterflies and their lifecycle, and other natural history related lessons. We are currently seeking donations of used birding binoculars, so if you have recently upgraded to a pair of better binoculars, consider donating your old ones to the students at Parkview Elementary. If you have a pair to donate, please contact Tabitha Cale at tcale@audubon.org or (305) 371-6399 ext 140
