Lee Road (ARM Lox refuge) cleanup this Saturday

This Saturday at 10 a.m. the Friends of the Loxahatchee Refuge are doing a road cleanup at the ARM Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge in Boynton Beach. Meet at the Visitor’s Center. Trash bags, water bottles, vests, gloves, etc. will be provided. Bring a hat and sunscreen! Anticipate no more than 1 hour of work. February’s Bird of the Month: Indigo Bunting

The bird of the month for February is Passerina cyanea, Indigo Bunting. In its winter dress it resembles a small sparrow and frequents weedy areas in Palm Beach County. It seems to love the feeders at the Okeeheelee Nature Center as well.
